SiPHA is the leading health institution serving the rugged and vibrant Simbu Province in Papua New Guinea. Established to unify and strengthen health services across the region, SiPHA operates with a mission to deliver equitable, accessible, and life-saving care to all communities, including those in the most remote highland areas. Through strategic partnerships, community engagement, and a commitment to innovation, SiPHA continues to improve health outcomes and build resilient systems that reflect the province’s unique challenges and strengths.

Simbu Province, also known as Chimbu, is nestled in the central highlands and is renowned for its dramatic mountainous terrain, rich cultural heritage, and resilient people. With Kundiawa as its capital, Simbu is home to Papua New Guinea’s highest peak Mount Wilhelm and is a hub for organic coffee production and traditional practices. Despite limited natural resources and infrastructure, the province boasts a strong sense of community and a growing focus on education and human development. The name “Simbu” originate from a local greeting meaning “Welcome” or “Thank you,” reflecting the warmth and hospitality of its people. Together, SiPHA and Simbu Province embody a shared vision of health, hope, and progress in the heart of PNG’s highlands.
